Babies Behind Bars...

I'm watching the show Babies Behind Bars and it's stirred up quite a bit of controversy. There is a prison in Indiana that allows 60 women (who are non violent offenders) a year who are allowed to give birth and keep their babies the remainder of their prison sentence. The prison offers a separate building for the Moms away from the rest of non pregnant inmates, called the baby dorm. The baby dorm has "nannies" who are other inmates and they help out around in the dorm and care for the babies. The show mentions that some people believe that this is a privilege that shouldn't be allowed and that it's not fair and could potentially be unsafe for the baby..While others argue that the first yr of a babies life is so important for mother and baby to bond and that this program could potentially help keep the Moms on the right path once out of prison. What are yalls views on this? If you havent watched this show, I reccomend it....
