Any other rh- mommas in this group?

So I have a negative blood type which is great for blood drives but apparently not great for babies. It can cause all sorts of problems. I had an MC last year which means I could have developed antibodies against this babies blood. I’m just curious how early other women got the rhogamm shot or if anyone has had any issues otherwise?

I am sensitized - my first pregnancy ended in miscarriage and I didn’t receive the Rhogam shot, so I developed antibodies. During my second pregnancy (resulting in a healthy baby boy with no complications), I had much more frequent bloodwork to monitor my antibodies and I still received the Rhogam shot during pregnancy and post-delivery. If you are sensitized, each subsequent pregnancy can have increased risk, but with close monitoring and proper care, it’s totally treatable.
If you aren’t sensitized already, there is little to stress about ❤️ Rhogam is very effective and in the rare case that it doesn’t do it’s job, there are a lot of options to get appropriate care for you and your baby. There is also an awesome support group on Facebook full of info for Rh sensitized parents.

Omg i never heard about this. I am O- so is my partner. Also is my mother but I never heard of these shots. Where are most of you from?

I’m O- and have a 20 month old which I had no problems conceiving but he was born with a negative blood type as well. I received shots while pregnant but not after since he was negative. I had a miscarriage at the end of June and received my Rhogam shot during that and I am currently about 4 weeks 3 days pregnant again. They told me my miscarriage likely had nothing to do with my blood type since babies typically go undetected in the body for some time (hence why they don’t give Rhogam until like 28 weeks or something like that.) But who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ Other than that as long as you get your shots most women have no issues during their pregnancies.

I’m A- my husband is + and I’m on my third pregnancy. Both of my previous pregnancies I got a shot at 28 weeks and then after delivery. They told me if I were to ever have a miscarriage I would get one at that time as well.

I'm A- I was 15 weeks when I almost lost my son and they gave me the shot. I was 13 weeks with my daughter and this time I think 4.5 weeks because I started to bleed

Im not sure as I did not get the shot. Im O- as is my husband and therefore all of our kids will also be O-. They wanted to give me the shot at 28 weeks I think but we knew for certain my husband was O- so they said I didnt have to get it.

I’m O- and my husband is O+. I miscarried last year and got Rhogam at that time. This time around, they told me 28 weeks is when I would get it and again 72 hours before I gave birth. They also said that if I miscarried again, they would give it to me at that point as well. We’ve got this, Mama!

I am B-. I got the rhogam shot when I was 28 weeks with my son, he ended up being b- as well so I did not need the second dose. I had a miscarriage in February and they gave me the rhogam shot then. I am now 6 weeks pregnant and started to have the slightest bit of spotting over the weekend so I went to my OB yesterday and she gave me the rhogam shot again.

I am rh-   my husband is as well but the OB wanted me to have the shot regardless.  It stings. No issues during first pregnancy. I had a planned c section since my son was breech. He came out negative blood as well so we did not need the second shot.
