Triggering periods

My next period is 6 days now according to <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.glow.android.eve">eve</a> and I wasn’t bleeding for the entire day until I fingered myself

I don’t think my fingernails cut my insides because I file them down regularly. To add on, I didn’t feel any pain. But my fingers were somehow covered in blood. A LOT of blood.

Is this normal? Can fingering make periods start early?
