If you adopted a child would you tell everyone you meet that your child is adopted?

As I was researching information about adoption this one article I found said that you shouldn’t keep your adopted child a secret which I agree with but yet I don’t believe that you should tell every single person you meet that your child is adopted. My adoptive mother always did this, she told anyone and everyone I was adopted to the point where people we didn’t know would know information on our family, I never liked that she did this and when I confronted her on it she would flip it around and tell me that she never said anything. On the other hand my adoptive father didn’t tell people because he always saw my siblings and I as his own child.
