Why do I still get my hopes up?

I've been TTC for over 4 years and every month I get hopeful and every month I get my heart broken 
Why do I do this when I know it's most likely just another negative? I'm currently 4dpo so I'm not even close to testing yet but I just don't want to be so upset when it (most likely) comes back negative in about 10 days

I think by nature we want to believe that even though the last four years have been nothing but failures, this month will be different. We've also been TTC for four years.
