What rights do I have?(UK)

Question

Broke up with my partner and as he works for the law he's acting like he can take advantage of that when it comes to taking my children!!
Because he can't have me his trying to take the children which he has NO reason to do so. He works 40+ hours a week he doesn't know what he is doing. 
I don't think it should be 50/50 as he clearly cannot cope with being alone with my daughter!!! I could go on but I'm wondering what rights do I have???
My daughter has always been with me as his hours at work so him trying to take her away could cause soo much damage for her. I'm also pregnant. He does fuck all anyway!!! But as his job I feel like I have no rights 😒

I think hes trying to scare u because he knows he doesnt have a leg to stand on so hes hoping ull do everything quietly and wont go through the court system. Id get legal representation immediately and figure out ur rights. Even if u cant afford something there will be free legal aid just call the court house and ask what to do

Get advice from a solicitor. If you can’t agree custody terms outside of court then you’ll have to go to a family court who will make a ruling. You can agree on what days which parent will have the children. If he breaks the custody agreement that’s been set out in court, he can lose even more access. 
The benefit of going to a family court is that they will look at the whole picture. It’s pretty standard that mothers usually wind up getting more custody (e.g. mon-fri every week) than fathers. If he’s also working 40+ hours a week then that will affect how much custody he gets, depending on the age of the child(ren) (are they old enough to get to/from school, can they be left unsupervised etc). If he’s working that much and you are more available then it makes no sense to give him more custody. 
Definitely recommend going forward with a solicitor though if he won’t come to any sort of agreement with you.
