Cramping on the day before I think I ovulate?

I’m pretty sure that I got my peak opk just now. The app says that I’m due to ovulate today, but according to the OPKs I think that maybe I’ll ovulate tomorrow.

I’ve had some moderate to severe cramping all day today, similar to AF. Is that normal before ovulation? I thought cramping only came when the egg was actively being released.
