Baby Sleep: Did anyone have their newborn sleep in their own room/nursery?

Karelta

Hi, my baby is 3 weeks old and my husband has suggested that we let her sleep in her own room in her crib every now and then at night so she can get used to it so when it’s time to transition her she is ok. She also does like napping in her crib sometimes. I want to know if anyone else here has let their newborn sleep in their own room/nursery? How did it go? Any regrets?

I switched my little one at two months. She’s long and every time I put her in the bassinet she’d wake up because one of her limbs touched the sides. Was nervous for a few days but she slept great in the crib

I transitioned my girl long before I ever thought I would. She wasn’t sleeping great in the bassinet anymore at 2 months so I tried a crib nap and she slept great. Had a hard time staying asleep that night so I put her in the crib snd she slept and has been in it ever since ! She’s 3 months now :)

We usually move our babies around 4-5 months and sleep train at that point. However, lots of parents start baby in their rooms and cribs from day one. You just have to be comfortable with it. The risk of SIDS decreases a lot around 6 months, so many wait until around then. However, just make sure you provide a safe sleep environment. A lot of babies sleep much better in their own space! ❤️
