34 weeks 1cm dilated

hey y’all, so i went to the dr yesterday due to some pretty bad pain i was having. they ended up checking my cervix along with some other things but when she was checking me she said baby was extremely low and i was 1cm dilated. about a week before, i had a scan to check my cervix length bc i had my last baby preterm and they said my cervix had shortened. anyways, have any of y’all experienced anything similar? how long after did you end up going into labor?
