How do I make new friends?

Hey everyone, so I recently moved to Las Vegas from Oregon. I only had one friend down there and since the move when we talk now she doesn’t put any effort into keeping conversation or asking to call etc. I have never lived in a big city so I’m just wondering if some of you can give me some advice on how to make some friends cause I’m getting quite lonely.

Join activities where you live, Zumba class, go to the gym, get a pad, go to the dog park, take a class at a community college, learn a language, take a pottery class, photography, some kind of self improvement, volunteering, at the mall, the make up counter, there’s always women buying make up, complements are usually a good way to start a conversation, if I see a woman very well put together her hair or make up her clothes I say I’m not a lesbian but you are a knockout, , Compliments make people feel better about themselves, it breaks down the wall, and say hey could you show me how you do your make up like that sometime, just say I just moved here, and I have no friends, I think Bumble has a friend section as well. But usually when you find something in common, you bond over that, maybe your neighbors, bake some muffins or cookies etc. and bring them over and say hi I am selling so I just moved to the area, and I wanted to say welcome and introduce myself. Exercise around your neighborhood, if you see somebody else walking say hello, or complement their outfit or whatever it may be. You see a mother with kids, have a conversation, I’m sure she wouldn’t mind a break from the kids, being helpful and things like that at the same token you don’t wanna be taken advantage of so be careful with that one. Join a religious organization, join literally almost anything you could join. A dance class, poetry reading, bookstore, coffee shop etc. I’ve literally met a man at the grocery store because he had less items behind me and I let him go ahead of me, another time there was a new lottery machine and he was showing me the new features, just be friendly and smile and make conversation. Don’t walk around with that where they call it resting bitch face. Unfortunately you have to get out of your comfort zone if you want anything in life whether that is a raise at your job or a relationship etc. Good luck￼
