To the woman who posted about not feeling connected to your Daughter…

Tracie

I wanted to respond but your post was deleted. I wanted to assure you that what you are feeling is normal. As someone who was hit by postpartum depression, I would encourage you to speak with your healthcare provider about your feeling as well. I know the idea of “having” depression is scary and might make you feel “less than” but your feelings matter! You are so brave to post about your intimate struggles with motherhood here and that tells me you truly want the best for your child…and the best thing for your child is a happy and healthy mama! It’s ok to be selfish and make sure you get some time to yourself whenever possible…what is free time with a baby, tho right!? But you have to adapts to this new way of life and find little things that give you peace and joy. I remember feeling the same way when I had my son, like I knew him so much more when he was inside me…and when he was born I was disappointed that I didn’t know exactly what he needed immediately. We have to remember to give ourselves grace and realize that no matter how much you prepare for your baby, you will never be prepared for your baby until they arrive. YOU GOT THIS MAMA!
