Are you announcing your pregnancy on social media?

Hi, ladies,
Hubby and I have collectively decided not to announce on social media but our Moms are asking when it’s OK to post (my Mom even knows exactly what she’s going to say). My reasoning is the heartbreak I had seeing posts like these after our miscarriage and months and months after negative tests. My SIL also lost her baby shortly after birth and I really don’t feel comfortable counting my chickens before they hatch.
Should I just let my Mom do what she wants? I know she means well.

We did announce on social media, but I completely understand why you might not want to. I’d suggest you ask your moms to honor your wishes. 
We’ve had to draw some hard lines in the sand regarding our families’ social media posts, and while it’s not a comfortable conversation, our families have respected our decisions. In the end, it’s your child, and you get to make the call.

My husband and I are super private when it comes to social media so we didn’t announce anywhere like that. None of our family (except my sister) are into fb, so we didn’t have to worry about that!

We don’t announce anywhere. I know my mom will eventually post a picture of me where I’m obviously pregnant and that’s fine but she’s not going to make a specific “announcement” post either. She’s just telling whoever she wants to tell off of social media.

Well it's nice she asked you at least. We had two separate relatives on my husband's side announce our pregnancy BEFORE we announced on social media. We were pretty upset to say the least. To me it's common sense that you do not do that, but apparently not everyone agrees.

I’d suggest you talk to them and ask them to honor ur wishes. I haven’t announced yet and everyone keeps asking when I’ll announce on social media, but I am planning on doing so soon!
