Switching doctors after 28 weeks??

I just got a call from my doctors office. They still accept my insurance but the only hospital they deliver out of does not. I need to switch providers and I’m terrified of finding someone and connecting with them and getting a level of trust with that doctor before delivery.

She said the health insurance was supposed to send out letters to everyone at the beginning of the year advising they no longer worked with the hospital but that they recently had a few moms who never got this letter and delivered and had a surprise $30,000 bill from the hospital so they are making phone calls to everyone pregnant with that insurance. I guess as of 1/1/21 the hospital stopped their contract with my insurance which is before I was pregnant so I can’t put in a request for continuation of care 😭

Tell me it’ll be okay and others have had to switch this late in the game.
