I hear everyone that filed claimed a dependent on 2020 taxes are getting advanced child tax credit payments $500 every month.

Now I'm filing my taxes in 2021.

Last year we lived at grandfather house. I asked him not to claim on taxes this year opt out of advance child credit but I don't know what is going on.

Honestly I feel like this advance child tax credit is adding stress to people going to give them heart attacks.

Because what about divorced parents that maybe one parent claimed them one year the other parent a different year and to know they are getting money from the irs

I feel sick

I feel worried because it's like will that person have to pay the money back and be upset ask me to pay it back even though they used it. Will the IRS pay only half to those that actually file and do the 2021 taxes.
