What’s your opinion on names ? Does the sex really matter ?

I have a boy and girl name picked out . But when I spoke to a family member about it they kinda gave me shit because for a girl name it’s not traditionally used for a girl it’s more of a boy name but I have always loved that name boy or girl . Should I care about the opinions of others ? It’s a name I feel will suite my daughter if that’s what I’m having .

My name is Blake and until sisterhood of the traveling pants came out with Blake Lively no substitute teacher believed it was my name they always thought I was joking 😂 However I LOVE my name and I feel like it suits me so well! I never got made fun of my name by peers of anyone else other that subs. My daughter also has a unisex name and we picked out one name for this baby as well. We’ll find out in about a month what the gender is but we are sticking with the same name either way. I don’t think nowadays people make a big deal out of it like they used to. Unless you name your daughter like Bob or something I don’t see her being made fun of

It’s up to you. The only thing I try to keep in mind is kids making fun of the child. I know it’s stupid, but kids can be assholes and it can really make school a miserable experience for some. I always think of the song a boy named Sue lol. 
I personally am a fan of some traditionally used boys names for girls and there’s lots of unisex names. We found out we are having another girl and are going to name her Charlotte, but want to nickname her Charlie 🤷🏼‍♀️
