What are the pros and cons of the patch birth control ??

Okay so, I wanna try the patch birth control. What are the pros and cons of this birth control

I actually prefer the patch over pills, the only thing is my skin gets irritated from the sticky stuff on it. Also lint gets caught in the edges of the patch lol. I also noticed it made my periods shorter. I didn’t notice any weight gain or acne while on it either, but everyone is different.

I was on the pills at first until I got tired of them, that’s when I switched to the patch and I Love It.I didn’t notice any side effects so that’s good. To prevent the skin from being irritating due to patch being in the same spot for a week, the day you switch to the new patch put it in a different spot. For instance if you have it on the right buttock for the week, switch it to the left buttock. Also, my OBGYN suggested that I used rubbing for the area for the patch. This helps me prevent my skin from irritating and stays in place when I am taking a shower. Once the alcohol has been dried, DO NOT put lotion in that area of the patch because it will come off.

I’ve tried the patch before and I found it was very noticeable on my body. I’m very tiny framed and so anytime I’d change clothes or shower it would be easy to catch an edge of the patch and accidentally rip off part of it. The side effects for me were horrible with rapid mood swings, depression and crying for no reason. The only good thing was that it made my boobs huge in the short time that I used it!

I prefer patch over pill FOR SURE. Unfortunately it comes off in the bath, gets mistaken for a bandaid during sex and people may pull it off (yes legit had that happen 3 different times) and I got a burn rash from it and couldn’t use it anymore. But it still is my 2nd favorite form of bc
