Relaxers during first trimester?

Hey ladies! So glad for this forum. I just got my BFP yesterday (so early days) and I have a hair appointment for a touch up on my relaxer on Thursday….does anyone know if there are any high risks/has anyone experienced anything regarding relaxers and being pregnant? I tried google but there wasn’t much information either way other than the “safest is to go natural” and much love to those who do, but it’s really not for me. Thanks for any insight!

Maybe you can get braids in the mean time too. Or wear a wig.

The website rates skincare, makeup and hair products based on their ingredients and associated risks for pregnant women. You simply search by product name or category. I know the chemicals are different but you’re fine to dye your hair while pregnant so I don’t see why you couldn’t get a relaxer.

I would wait until my 2nd trimester. The first trimester is just too full of important growth to risk IMO.
