I had/have PCOS and I didn’t know until like 18 years old (I’m 23 now) but I remember when I was 16 I had a month and a half long period. My teachers were mad because it was so heavy I was always going to the bathroom. One tried to get me in trouble and my mom told her off. We finally went to the doctor and she gave me birth control. After 3 days it slowed down and finally stopped and went back to normal. Then I’d miss a period some months and I thought it was awesome. One time it went for 6 months and no period and after that month long one I was so happy to not bleed I didn’t realize it wasn’t a good thing. That’s why when I was 18 they finally told me I had PCOS because I got one real doctor that noticed my irregular periods and such. I’d say take her to a good doctor you trust and see what they say. I was always nervous to do a pelvic exam when I was 16 so they might ask for one. She can always say no. I did 🤷🏻‍♀️ they still figured out what was wrong without it
