Dogs and pregnancy

I have two dogs, one’s a girl and one’s a boy. My girl is more independent; she likes attention and pets but if you’re not petting her she doesn’t care about you. My boy on the other hand is very needy and clingy and follows me everywhere. If I leave the room he needs to come with me. He just wants to be beside me at all times.

He didn’t notice at all when I first became pregnant and his behaviour didn’t change at all the past few months, it was like he didn’t even really know. But all of a sudden, this past week or so he’s been extremely needy. More so than usual. Even groaning and crying when I leave the room, or the other day I told him to leave the kitchen because I was eating and he was bumming and he growled when he was walking away. He didn’t growl at me, he walked away first then was just pacing and growling at nothing then came back all anxious. He’s never done that before, he normally listens and just goes and lays down in the hallway where he can still see me but isn’t right beside me drooling lol

But it’s like now he needs to be right beside me even more so than normal. It’s just weird because I’m 23 weeks pregnant and he only just started acting weird this past week. Like he just noticed.

Does anyone have any similar experiences? I think he’s just anxious I’ll pay more attention to the baby than him or that I won’t love him anymore so I’m trying to not get mad at him and cuddle him more.
