Depends on if you're going based off actual NEEDS of a child vs wants AND needs.

It really varies based on how you are feeding them, how fast they go through diapers, and how much you like to shop for clothes and toys lol.Between 0-1 we spent at least $80/month on diapers and $80/month on formula alone and $20/month on wipes. Clothes are probably about $12/outfit in general and most kids go through 2-3 outfits a day and wash once a week. Toys we spent a lot but I had him home for 4 months so I wanted everything available to him. After 1 we were doing baby led weaning, so no more formula cost and he ate what we ate so food cost was minimal. Still about $80/month on diapers and $20/month on Wipes. Clothes went down to 1 outfit a day most days after 1 as well, but we like choices so he definitely has more than a week worth of Clothes. We also choose to do activities (soccer, swim class, and an indoor playground) that total about $170/month

I should add we don't currently pay for childcare, but when we were it was a minimum of 800/month

$20. Max. DISCLAIMER: Almost all his clothes are hand me downs, he is seven months and has one jar of baby food a day (two feedings) a breast milk and water the rest of the day. We had a shower and we're gifted a stroller/car seat combo, diapers in so many sizes, clothes, toys, books, bath time stuff, everything. I was given a hand me down crib and baby monitor (nothing fancy). What I have bought: the baby $2,500 in bills to the birth center total, 2 boxes of diapers both for $34 each at Sam's club because bulk buys, $15 worth of clothing from a mix of clearance Carter's new and a second hand store, $25 clearance breast pump, $20 in milk storage bags, postpartum pads, bowls for baby food and baby food.Honestly, if you are willing to forgo what is trendy for what works and is cheap (safe of course), you'll be surprised how much you save. I also work from home and don't pay daycare so that is a huge factor as well. But their necessities are so minimal at first that if you just ask, people will give you all of their old stuff, even if you don't want it. Garage sales are great too. Never thought I would be that mom but I pride myself on spending less than $3,000 on everything for my son from pregnancy to 7 months. I do have a lot of help and determination though so this may not be a good example. Hope you find what you're looking for!!

Same here. I track all our budgeting money and we don't spend much on our kids because they don't need a lot.. we borrow, share and reuse.

About 180$/month for daycare100$/month for diapers and wipesFood.. not so sure. I breastfed so formula wasn’t an expense. But I also get about 450$/month from the government in child care and about 750$ every 3 months from the federal government for the same thing. Giving birth and doc appointments also cost me nothing

I have a 2 and 4 year old and we roughly spend about an easy $3500 on them a month. That's on the high end if we need to buy more in a month or not. I also included rent because we choose a bigger place to live so they have their own rooms, and utilities because we honestly do use more electric and water with kids rather than when it was just the 2 of us. It also includes diapers, underwear is needed, gas in the vehichle to make appointments and school, groceries, basic nessceties. With a newborn if formula feeding it's typically about $200 more.

Honestly the first year we probably spent $10,000 on our first baby not including medical bills. Now he’s almost 2 and I spend about $70/month on diapers and wipes. I put $50/month into a savings for clothes and odds and ends. Our grocery bill is up about $40/month for his snacks but he eats what we eat. I think it all depends on what and how you feed. I also nursed for 12 months and did formula when I was away from him because he wouldn’t drink pumped milk. We were picky about what we bought because I want it to last through several kids too but I don’t feel like we were over the top with anything.
