I knew nothing about HPV until I just tested positive. I am 25 pregnant with my 3rd baby. I just had my first pap done for this pregnancy and got results that I am hpv+ I am currently 13 weeks pregnant .. I had my daughter 9 months ago and during my pregnancy with my daughter (about 5-6 months pregnant) I shaved and later became very irritated down there with a bump which I thought was bad razor burn or a sore from cutting myself while shaving.. well the bump did nothing but got worse and throughout my pregnancy more and more bumps appeared I said something to my doctor and they literally just brushed it off I was also having odd discharge smells and I asked to be swabbed bc I thought I had BV (I didn’t think anything of the bumps bc the doctor was never concerned) I have no idea if I was ever tested after this point… right before giving birth I was still concerned about these bumps and I was told it looked fine nothing to worry about they are common bc of the increase of hormones during pregnancy and that they will go away sometime after birth so about 3 months post partum the bumps went away I still didn’t think much of it bc I thought doctors knew best and it was nothing. Low key I knew that those bumps were not normal but I didn’t stress it bc I wanted to trust my doctor. So now here I am pregnant again and I had my pap done and my results came back HPV+ now I am freaking out. I really need someone to educate me on this virus
