Why even "save" the dogs if you are just going to execute them?

I don't understand how this could ever be ok? Maybe I'm over-sensitive to bad things happening to rescue dogs because I have 3 of them. 
Over here in the US people are threatening the lives of trainers that use bonkers to rehabilitate dogs. However, all over the world people are killing dogs for no valid reason?!

Killing innocent dogs to prevent the shelter workers from coming into work- yeah there is no justification for this. Australias entire lockdown situation has gotten waaay too out of hand. People getting arrested for going for a walk to get fresh air shouldve been the last straw. Once the govt and military state have this much control they will not give it up. Good luck Aussies, you’re under authoritarian control.

Hang on friends - how many of you are keeping up to date with the impacts of covid in regional Australia?
I'm not happy this has happened but I note the local council is under investigation for their actions.
NSW (where I live) is currently going through our worst outbreak yet. We're an island nation so for a long time we were at covid zero in the community - the only cases were returned Australians in hotel quarantine. In June, delta variant got into the community, and the heavily populated parts of NSW have been in lockdown since then. A couple of weeks ago the lockdown was extended to regional NSW.
Vaccine roll out has been very slow and only got better over the last few weeks. Yesterday is the first day people between the age of 16-39 were able to book vaccines through the government app. My parents in their 60s in regional Australia only became fully vaccinated this week, and they booked in as soon as it was available to them. They're only 2 hours from Sydney. Bourke is 800km from Sydney in the middle of nowhere. 
Indigenous communities are highly at risk from covid and have a significant distrust of government and medical professionals. One of the indigenous communities I work with in QLD literally decided to barricade the roads and let no one through for 3 months last year excluding emergency supplies, which were dropped off and then quarantined before distribution. For context - the entire state of QLD was experiencing fewer than 100 cases a day. There is a very low tolerance for community transmission in this country before a lockdown is triggered. 
An indigenous community in Wilcannia held a perfectly legal funeral a few days before lockdown was extended to the regions and then became targeted and blamed in the media for "doing the wrong thing". Communities are being blamed when the true failure in this country is the slow vaccine roll out. 
Am I OK with dogs being put down? No, my dog is a rescue dog from regional NSW. I do not agree with this. But if the Bourke council are worried about the growing case numbers in Bourke I would weigh the lives of indigenous Australians over the lives of the dogs. These humans are high risk and potentially unvaccinated. The most recent news I found on indigenous vaccine rates is a month old but only 7% were vaccinated at that time. I can't fault the council for nagging an extreme decision in this case.

So senseless. We adopted my puppy from our of state and he got a covid vaccine and was quarantined before coming here. They could have been safely adopted out.
