Natural Birth 😬 At 36! Who else?

Hello mamas Im 36 and this will be my 6th baby and I'm thinking of switching to a home birth but I'm soooo nervous! One reason why I'm thinking about switching is because as I stated in a previous post I recently lost my husband and I have no family or friends for support (he was my only support) and with all the stuff going on with Covid etc I was going to just hire a midwife and a doula and have a home birth but im scared!! I ain't gonna lie! Who else is planning a home birth? What are your thoughts? Thanks! ❤

1) sorry for your loss! You are already strong and you got this.
2) this is our first baby. Hubby wanted a home water birth and I was a little apprehensive solely because it’s my first. So we are doing a midwife birth center. Main midwife had 35 years experience, and the alternate is up at 20 years. For the second one I would like to consider home birth. It’s your comfort zone, your home.

I’m planning my second home birth. I’ll be 37 when baby boy is due. I’ve had a cesarean, unmedicated hospital birth and home birth. Home birth was by far the most amazing birth experience of the three. I’m actually really looking forward to this second home birth. It’s so much more peaceful and less hectic than a hospital birth. Plus, you aren’t bothered throughout the night with nurses checking your BP 🙄 It is also nice to be able to have family with you. Good luck!

I have had 3 home births. I really appreciated the holistic approach they provided. My mental state was equally important to them as my physical state. By delivery, they felt more like sisters than care providers. That level of trust in my team helped ease any fears I had going into the process. 
I highly recommend home birth. But there is a lot of prep work and you should have someone available to tend to your other kids. So you will still need a support network in addition to the birth team.

Hello! 
I am planning my first/only homebirth with our baby #3 on the way. My heart went out to all the mamas who delivered babies alone or under hard circumstances during covid and I just knew that wasn’t the birth I could do or wanted for our last child. I’ve always wanted a homebirth and figured this is my last and only chance! Working with a CPM has been great and I’ve done all my labs/ultrasounds with an OBGYN since those are covered by insurance. We are paying out of pocket for the birth but the fact that I won’t need to brave the mountain roads in December for labor and postnatal/baby appointments is well worth it. My midwife comes to my house for all appointments and stays over an hour, my toddlers are involved, and we talk about any fears and plans every time. We focus a lot on nutrition and whole food supplements and I feel confident about this plan.
