Sorry for the stupid question lol

Hi ladies I just started my first period not too long ago and was wondering if your cycle is just the number of days inbetween your periods like only the days inbetween bleeding and not counting your actual period days or is it the first day of your last period all the way up to your next period? Sorry if that’s confusing.
