What are some necessities after vaginal birth?

Im shooting for a vbac and so far everything is pointing towards it. 🤞 Im also getting an epidural. Im not sure what to expect pain wise afterwards but I have heard women mention something about how “tucks” were a life saver. I think thats what they are called. 
Any advice or other things you found that helped with burning/pain relief?

This is my postpartum list, I’ll be buying enough for 2 weeks: 
Adult diateys - Always Discreet
Big ol maxi pads
Anti-itch healing spray - dermoplast
Cooling/soothing pads - Tucks 
Hospitals often provide post partum comforts like these. If you’re having a hospital birth, Stock up before you leave!

They make a numbing spray that is fabulous, I think it’s called dermaplast.  My first hospital gave it to me, the second one didn’t unfortunately.  They give you a squirt bottle to use to clean after toileting since they don’t advise wiping if you have stitches.  Warm water in that is underrated lol it always feels so nice since stitches can get tight feeling.  You may get lucky and not have any tearing, if that’s the case recovery is even easier.  Also, take the stool softeners, whether you think you’ll need them or not.  Feeling like you have to strain to poop, especially if there are any stitches, is awful.☺️

Your lady bits will be in a way different state than if you have a c-section. I had so much pain down there for a few weeks! But there are tricks! My hospital gave me the dermaplast spray for numbing but you can also buy it. Also freezing pads and using witch hazel pads. (Both things my nurse suggested.) I had stitches with both kids. I used a little circle cushion to sit on at first bc pressure hurt. And of course keeping up on the Advil! Good luck!

Large pads or depends, dermaplast, tucks pads, a peri bottle ( I got a knock off Frida mom one that works just as good) and I also got the Frida mom perineal healing foam. I plan on using depends with overnight pads the first few days then some Frida mom disposable underwear with pads. I also got some reusable ice/heat pads. That’s about it, some of the stuff I got isn’t necessary just a little extra to help the healing process

Same as c section for me. I never bothered using any special pads. And I absolutely hate the depends adult diapers. I just used pads with mesh underwear for like a week and then the pads and underwear like normal. Never doing that again, I’m choosing c section for next baby lol

My hospital provides tucks and sent me home with them. 
I was SO glad I bought a Freida Mom Peri bottle 
Also, Motherlove perineal spray was so refreshing.

Highly recommend buying a stool softner and preparation H. I got really bad hemorrhoids from pushing so hard with my first.  That, peri bottle, tucks and adult diapers/overnight pads were all i used.

- Afterease Tincture by Wish Garden for birth pains (lifesaver with #2)
