Sleeping with blankets?

I know they recommend waiting until your baby is 1 year to let them sleep with blankets, when did you start letting your baby sleep with one? My son will be 1 in less than a week! But I’m still paranoid, he does love blankets though and sleeps well with them when he’s supervised, but I’m worried about giving him one over night.

We waited until 18 months but I think we would have been okay at 1. She now has 3-4 blankets and about 20 stuffed animals lol

I gave one to my son right when he turned one, but it was a knitted blanket from his grandma that had a very loose weave. Somehow it made me feel better that I could see through it.

I don't know exactly when it was but my daughter started to crawl and sit up (she was maybe 8mo) and we had to get rid of our bed- side-bed. We started to co-sleep and I was afraid she would try to crawl in the sleep sack and fall (we had only a matress... but still..) so we left the sleep sack out. I tried to put her in more layers because she was kicking off the blanket anyhow... I discovered much later that there are sleep sacks with legs... so I would go this way if I knew it before
But basically- I knew my daughter can free herself from a blanket without any help (I've chacked that few times) so I felt preety comfortable

I let my son have a pillow and blanket once he would crawl and move it off his face at 9-10 months. You're good to give him a blanket

We didn’t give a blanket until 18 months. We have a stuffed animal at 1 year. Baby had a blanket at daycare at 1 year but that was supervised

I guess it depends on the cognitive development of your little one. Has he progressed as he should for his typical age? If so, I don’t see why not.
