Baby shower in Pandemic… are you?

My baby is due in Dec and a few people have asked if I’m having a shower… I’m not sure if it’s safe, and in the PNW an outdoor shower in fall/winter will be pretty chilly and unreliable with weather. What is everyone doing??

Even being vaccinated id feel kinda weird having anything that’s large and inside. I had mine a couple months ago but it was entirely outdoors.
Maybe you could do a drive by one… people can hand you a gift, you can give them their favour and chat for a moment.

I had my showers on 7/31 and 8/7, but both parties were vaccinated people only so I felt fine having them. Winter ones are harder just because of the cold and finding a place big enough to house people and still socially distance.

Nope. We are due the first week of January and this is our first baby also and we are not having a shower. I have seen drive by showers where people give out goodie bags in them and people drop off gifts or you could do a virtual shower. But I don't feel comfortable having that many people around me and my husband.

I’m just doing a drive by thing. Setting up a table in the driveway for gifts to be dropped off, a table with some goody bags as a thank you, and waving from the front porch. If people want to participate, awesome. If not, I totally understand/don’t mind at all. 
I’m due in January and my hospital is doing temperature/symptom checks upon arrival. I’m not risking myself or my husband having a fever and him being unable to participate in the birth and/or me being isolated from my baby. It’s just not worth it to me. I also live in Florida where covid numbers are through the roof right now due to our governor. 🙃

They are doing one for me at work but I’m not doing another one for family/friends. I see my coworkers every day so it’s not changing my exposure.

I’m in the PNW and had a very small get together last month. Mostly everyone is/was vaccinated. It was held at someone’s house but we were outside a majority of the time because it was warm.

We didn’t have a baby shower, we did a registry & whoever wanted to send stuff did. It just felt safer so we weren’t exposing anyone. Some of our families are vaccinated and some aren’t, so we really didn’t wanna risk anything or anyone.

“Drive by” or “drive thru” for me. Was disappointed at first but also realized how much $$$ I’ll be saving by not throwing a “traditional” shower. And we’ll also keep everyone COVID free🤞🏾

I didn't, sadly. We just made cute little cards for people who asked about our registry and sent them. But a drive by or virtual has been done a lot
