Which pet goes to temporary housing?

Question

We’re planning to sell our house and move across town this year. As most people know, the real estate market is insane and our house will probably sell quickly, but we’ll then likely need to live in an apartment for some time while we find a new house to buy.
Most of the apartments in our area have a two pet total limit (either two dogs, two cats, or one of each). We have three pets so one of them will need to live with a friend or family for a while:
An older cat who is pretty delicate, though luckily does not have major health issues yet. She’s very sweet and easy-going, but is old. It seems mean to separate her from us at this point in her life, but she is the most flexible of the three pets.
A younger cat who is very robust. Can be cuddly and outgoing with others after a time, but mostly he just likes me. The most temperamental of the three, he has had some anxiety issues in the past, but is in generally great health. 
A dog who (like the younger cat) prefers me, but, like most dogs, is reasonably happy with anyone who is kind to him and feeds him. His health is good and I think he’d be fine with another family for a bit, but I don’t know anyone who could easily take him in. Most people I know live in apartments of their own and my biggest worry in an apartment is how much he’ll bark so I don’t want to put that nuisance on someone else. 
Who would you pick?

I’d just hide one of the cats if they came to inspect, personally 😂 they can’t come in unannounced so 🤷🏻 I had one more pet than allowed in my apt for years and they never said a word even though there were clearly two different cats in the windows (in addition to my dog).

This is sad. I feel bad for whatever pet has to be “temporarily” given up. I wouldn’t move unless it meant all my animals could come with me.

I hate cats so to me I’d get rid of them both but they’re yours and it sounds kind of messed up that you’re making a poll and asking us which one you should get rid of, I absolutely love my dog and I would never get rid of him

You take the older cat. If she doesn’t find a home, she will be put down. The younger animals have a much better chance of finding a good forever home. Please do leave the elderly cat. You’re all she knows.

I’ve almost always lived in places where pets weren’t even allowed and I had at least 2 cats. No one ever came inside, plus I kept everything clean so there’d be no problems. It isn’t good for them to be apart from there family and home anyway. If you get caught just say you pet sitting for a friend.

For myself I would just lie about how many pets I have 😅 but I would say the dog if you are gonna do it. Then the dog won’t be cooped up in an apartment. And dogs are much more forgiving 😆
