How long until milk 🥛?

I had my baby on September 1st via C-section, and my milk started really coming in today… My breasts are huge and rock hard, but I’m not leaking anything yet and when I try to squeeze anything out I’m not getting much at all. When should the milk start flowing??

Latch latch latch baby. You don’t have to leak to have milk. I had over supply with both my girls and never leaked.

You should be latching baby (make sure baby has a good latch) and don't over stimulate your breasts except to feed baby unless you're trying to pump and have a stash

Try icing your boobs… I know it sounds weird but you can have swelling in your boobs from the c section. If you ice for 10 to 15 mins it helps decrease the swelling and helps your milk flow.

Either latch the baby or pump. Milk generally comes in day 3 or 4 postpartum (which for you is now) and you're really probably only producing an ounce or two at a time. That's enough for baby...their stomach is tiny.

Plenty of skin to skin with baby, latch latch latch! Warm baby cuddles and nursing will help. I found taking hot showers and massaging my boobs helped when they were engorged, but take it easy! 💕

Do hand expressions. Form a C with your hands to where your breasts are attached to your body and squeeze your breast down towards the areolas. The firm hard part inside of your breast is what you want to squeeze. Perhaps a youtube video might help?

If you want the milk to come out, you have to hand express. It's not quite the same as squeezing. If your breasts are engorged, there is milk in there! Mine never leaked unless I went hours engorged when my body was used to nursing instead.

You can also use a pump to get all the acces milk out and store it in the freezer
