We don't know if you'll be EBF or just pumping or a mix, etc. So I'm not gonna say "you don't start pumping right away." My kiddo was in NICU and I had to pump from day one to simulate feedings I'm order to create a supply. You never know what'll happen. I def suggest bringing your own 💖

When I gave birth March 2020 the hospital had a shortage of pumps and my husband had to go home to get mine. Definitely bring your own

Bring it and as the lactation consultant how to use it! They will help you fit the correct flange size and get your settings right. I was completely lost when I had to start pumping for my first.

If you plan on using it, I would because they should show you how to properly use it there especially if you get to see a lactation consultant while there.

I’m gonna bring the haaka or a small manual pump because I will only use it for stimulation if labor stalls and/or if I want to try to encourage production if I’m there more than a day

You can express some colostrum to Freeze and get your partner to bring that in if you need it. They don’t recommend pumping until you’re established in breastfeeding so not need to take a pump. Also your milk won’t come in for 48 hours or so so you’ll only have the thick colostrum to feed to start so you can’t really pump that
