Baby boy is about 6 days old. He initially latched on but briefly. We had help of the lactation consultant at the hospital but unfortunately didn’t have much success. Had to supplement with a bottle. Then I tried breast pumping at the hospital to bring in my milk which it did.

Now we’re home, I’ve continued to pump to stimulate my milk to increase my supply. But unfortunately we given him formula as well. Now it’s hard weening him off!! :(

He has latched but not for long. Then getting him to latch again, every time cried bloody murder. I have even tried using a nipple shield because maybe my nipple too short & it helps until he moves it out & it’s bloody murder all over again. I’ve tried different positions, walking to comfort him. & momma felt defeated so she gave in to a formula bottle.

He’s is a big boy was born close to 10lbs. He’s having about 3oz of formula & I’ve managed to pump that amount. Just we haven’t gotten the nursery part down.

Please if anyone has recommendations. We are all eyes & ears!!!! This momma is desperate!!!
