How did you become pregnant with MTHFR ?

My OB recommended that my new RE Specilaist perform testing on both my husband and I for gene mutation (MTHFR) as we’ve had 8 miscarriages… Is IVF even an option if one of us have MTHFR aka the motherfucker gene 🧬

I found out I have MTHFR after a miscarriage in 2016, the things they knew about it back then and what they know now are very different. Does your partner also have MTHFR? If no a child will be a carrier not have the disease anyway. Basically at this point they say it means and has very little impact on anything anymore, or that’s what my drs told me this year. I was told it’s now considered no big deal.

I was diagnosed with this after 4 MCs. I was prescribed a prescription folate (metanx) to use on top of my prenatal with folate. No clue if it helped as both my RE and OB said it couldn’t hurt but probably wouldn’t solve the issue, but so far pregnancy #5 has been successful. So sorry you are going through this!!
