Intramural fibroid while pregnant
My first scan at 8 weeks showed a fibroid the size of baby. We didn’t know I had a fibroid before we got pregnant, so they were surprised to see it on ultrasound. The doctor said it could have caused the early cramping I felt at week 5/6, but that it shouldn’t cause any problems with the pregnancy. But then she referred me to get my 1st trimester anatomy scan at the high risk pregnancy center. It seems scary to go somewhere else for my next scan, especially somewhere where high risk patients go. She said I’m not considered high risk, but then why am I going there for my next scan? Is this just a common procedure due to covid concerns? They said they hope to see my fibroid shrink on the next ultrasound, so I’m anxious to see next week when I go in.
Has anyone had a fibroid in the wall of their uterus cause problems with their pregnancy before? Or go unremarkable? Thank you for any input 😊
