2nd dose COVID-19 vaccine?

Any of ladies waiting on your 2nd COVID-19 vaccine shot? I got my first dose at 34w4d & am currently scheduled to receive 2nd dose at the end of this month (went with Pfizer). Baby seems to be doing fine so far. Nothing has changed as far as movements & I have felt fine as well. I'm just nervous about the 2nd dose even more so than the 1st for some reason. I have my c-section scheduled for the 8th of October & I just don't want anything to go wrong. So debating on whether I should wait until after birth to get my 2nd dose or get it at the end of September like I'm scheduled to?!?! Please no judgment I'm just a nervous wreck and want baby to be well & want everything to be OK.

You have the same schedule and vaccine brand as me! I decided to get fully vaccinated since we would be hitting a hospital full of sick covid patients (even though I'm sure they keep everyone separate from L&D) and a bunch of strangers that may or may not be vaccinated. I want to do everything I can to protect my baby and myself going into an environment with so many unknowns. Being FDA approved makes me feel a lot better as well. At the end of the day, I'm more scared of COVID side effects then I am of the vaccines side effects.
Also, I just discussed vaccine side effects (especially with the 2nd dose) with my doctor and she said they really don't worry about a short lived fever in the 3rd trimester and some have reported no side effects with the second dose. She said you get a better immune response if you don't pre dose with Tylenol, so recommends I play it by ear if I do develop a fever.

You have 12 weeks from your first dose to get it but let me tell you. That 2nd dose put me on my ass for a week! Off and on fever, night sweats, very upset stomach, dehydration, and headache. So just be aware. I’m fine now and do not regret getting it.

I haven’t gotten mine yet but just got over having covid a couple weeks ago. I was actually scheduled for my first dose that Friday and got symptoms Thursday. Now my OB told me to wait at least a month before getting my vaccine in case I have a strong reaction to it since I went through it pretty intense while I was sick. Not gonna lie, little nervous to get it in case I do have a reaction haha.

I got me second dose just over a week ago and zero issues. I was really worried I’d feel sick after so I went when I knew I’d have my boyfriend home the next few days to help with the kids in the morning just in case, but it was totally fine and I had zero side effects.

I had my 2nd shot yesterday at 35 weeks. I got the Moderna though. I don't have any symptoms except a sore arm. With my first shot I only had a sore arm as well.

I am 35 and 1, and just got my second dose a week and a half ago! I was nervous too, my husband spiked a low fever after his second dose but all went well for me. I was maybe a bit more tired than normal, but only because I was hyper aware of my body watching for a reaction. My arm was a little sore similar to Tdap. I had a checkup two days later and baby’s heart rate was still great, she’s been moving exactly like she did before. And truly I feel better just knowing it’s in my system. I hope all goes smoothly for you!

I got my first dose at 20 weeks and second dose at 24 weeks. After the second dose I had some body aches and chills. Having a newborn is hard enough without also not feeling well! I’d do it now before baby comes, so you can get plenty of rest!

I totally get how you feel. I am getting mine 9/13 and I’m nervous. I’ve posted this before, but I stand by it….I feel like I’m damned if I do and damned if I don’t. It is reassuring to me that I only felt slightly tired after the first shot and baby girl is doing great. C-section scheduled for 9/28. We are in this together!
