Hello! i am writing because I am truly desperate, I have been using the nipple shields since my baby was born, she is already 44 days old but I am experiencing a lot of problems with it, my baby is taking a lot of air every time I breastfeed her and now because of that she is in a lot of pain because is not easy for her to release the gasses, I always burp her after every session and give massages but nothing, she is even having a hard time to sleep because of the pain she feels (she barely get any good sleep now), just to mention I gave her also formula, but my pediatrician told me is because of the nipple shields and not the formula of the pain she feels for the quantity of air she take because of them, someone else is having this problem? I am truly desperate :( but there is no way I can make my baby take my breast without them, I have tried many times so far.
