My baby boy finally got to latched without the shield. But latching has become painful. My nipples feel so raw & we’ve only been nursing bare for a day.

I’ve iced & applied warm compress on them. Also, I have used the lanolin cream. Every time he latched it’s so painful until he begins sucking. We had a lactation appt yesterday which we did great but since then I try to get him to open wide but no success on my own.

Any mommas with the same issue & recommend anything. Please my nipples & I thank you in advance.
