How do y’all deal with going from 1 to 2 kids?

The closer I get to my due date the more emotional I get about my baby girl not being my only baby anymore. Can my heart really double in size? Will I still be able to be there for her and give her the attention she deserves? Is she going to feel left out or like mommy doesn’t love her. Ughhh this feeling sucks. She is only 3

I have an 18 month old & his pediatrician suggested that i spend one on one time with him when the baby comes so he won't feel left out. Just until he gets used to having a baby around.

My son was 16 months when I had my daughter and it was totally fine. I felt the same way but babies sleep a lot and I still had a lot of time with him. He loved having her around and now they play together and fight.

I was the same way. My babygirl was my world and even my husband would tell me she’s my little best friend and she was 3 as well. She was a very smart little girl and we prepared her the best we could and I was not expecting her to take to a little brother but she did. However, she did ask to send him to Baby Corp to swap him out for a sister. I included her is as mush as I could when caring for our son and I don’t think she ever felt left out. She is now 6 and has 2 little brothers and we have another baby on the way (hopefully a girl this time) but she is a little mommy. I had the same worries though and I still do even with my fourth that maybe she will feel like I don’t have time for her but she understands more now that sometimes I have to take care of the boys but we do make time for just us two and we always have. We have girl time as she calls it and it’s the best.

My son never had a problem adding his sister. It's a little harder now that she's getting into things and taking his toys, but the infant stage was fine. He'll be 3 in November and is excited to get a little brother.
This is definitely a tough age and I've heard it's one of the hardest age gaps. But let her be involved as much as she can be. She can help bring you diapers and wipes. She can show baby her toys or tell them about her day (if she's in preschool/daycare). My son likes to help push the stroller.
