Stay at home moms and finances

I've been a stay at home mom for 6 years now and in between that time I've had a couple little side jobs but nothing ever lasts for me because of how far I live from the city. I live in a small mountain town were my husband is from amd it was the dream cometrue when we first got together 10 years ago. Now that both my girls are in school and I have those hours to myself I'm starting to realize I don't know what I'm gonna do... my husband works in the city so he drives that hour and half drive everyday. It puts a lot of wear and tear on our vehicles because of all the mountain roads we drive to get anywhere. My girls go to school in the little town 15 miles away so I have to be here when they get off the bus. I've applied for a few jobs amd was interviewed but once I told them where I lived they lost interest in my application. I feel so stuck I don't like not having my own money and having to ask for permission to buy things and go places. I feel like a child. I just don't know what to do.. and my husband supports me in whatever I choose but I don't want to do something thats gonna compromise my children or his work schedule... if anyone has any advice I'm all ears and would sincerely appreciate it...
