Stretch marks painful?

Are stretch marks suppose to be painful? It’s my first stretch mark on my lower belly and I had a pinching sensation, I looked in the mirror and it looks like a stretch mark.

For me they are mostly itchy but stretching and pressure can cause pain too.

They can be sometimes painful and itchy, usually the skin is getting irritated due to the process and dry skin makes it worse. Usually some oil or unscented lotion helps with it.
