Is it appropriate to have more than one baby shower??

Just a little more context here.
Is it cool to have a baby shower AFTER you already had a baby? 
Like a relative on my hubby's side is pregnant with baby #3 and is having a shower. I would be more understanding if it was her first baby or if her children had large age gaps (like I get baby things get old or expire or new safety measures and even clothing styles can change so I would get it if the baby age gaps were significant!). Her current youngest (soon to be middle child) just turned ONE and she is 5 months pregnant l currently. And her oldest is three years old.
On my side of the family, you only had a baby shower for the first baby lol. Sure people may give gifts but no one had a shower for the second, third, fourth born.
So what do you think? Having a baby shower, asking for more gifts when your kids are so close in age especially? Not like they have gotten rid of all of the baby stuff. (Like why would you need a new bassinet when you have one from the baby before that isn't even old?!)

I believe every baby deserves to be celebrated. You can see it as a gift grab if you want to, but a baby shower is a celebration of the baby.

Why is this even a question? It’s a party to celebrate her baby. In a world filled with a lot of hate and sadness why not celebrate every minute you can? What are you worried about?

I do not get these kinds of posts.  Why are you so judgmental of someone celebrating a baby?  You don’t have to go or send a gift if you don’t want to.  Most people bring diapers and wipes/other necessities to second or third baby showers and every mom needs those with every baby.  Also most people don’t throw their own shower, family decides to throw it.  Just don’t go, it’s really that simple.

I have been to showers where the mom or the parents are extra greedy so I'm scarred from those experiences. If the parents to be were nice and not greedy I would go and get a gift. 
But just based on my experiences, using those as examples, I'd be like no. Cause I've previously been to showers where it's like 4 under 4 with 3 dudes and wanting a $1,000 stroller and has no job and just collects tons of money child support from multiple dads. So those kind of showers for those kinda people? I would say no buy your own expensive stuff or get a job.

Personally i would have a second baby shower because nobody really helped with my oldest son.  I ended up getting everything myself .

Not every one family is the same. Just because yours isn’t like that doesn’t mean every family is like that.
It’s okay to have more than one baby shower. Especially if they’re just barely a year apart, they’re probably using the bassinet that they got for that baby from their previous baby shower for that baby still. I know babies grow but they don’t grow out of things that fast. It makes sense for the new baby to have their own. As for strollers and whatnot have you ever heard of twin strollers? She could use that for both children and yes they cost a pretty penny but definitely would come in handy. 
All in all my opinion is, it’s okay to have more than one baby shower. They need all the love and support they can get from their friends and family. And if you feel like they don’t “need” it, then don’t attend their baby shower or you can go but don’t bring a gift. Either way I feel like they would be grateful to have your presence there as for “it’s the thought that counts”.

Clicked the wrong choice accidentally. It’s great to allow the people in your life to celebrate you and your babies. Over the course of having kids I have been in different groups of people (colleges, jobs, new cities/friends, etc.) and those around me have wanted to celebrate. If you don’t need gifts it can be a party. If you don’t want to be in physical proximity to people it can be a virtual or drive-by celebration.

I had two girls 20 months apart. My first i had a big baby shower and got tons of gifts. My second i had a “sprinkle” celebration but didnt ask for gifts. Babies all deserve to be celebrated and be shown that their appearance is wanted no matter where they fall in the birth order. And not every baby deserves to have hand me downs from the siblings before them so in my opinion asking for small gifts is also appropriate
