People 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
I’m 2 weeks post partum and today I went out with my son to run a few errands. I wore a maxi dress that isn’t tight, but fitted… so of course you could see my little bit of swollen belly. There was a woman behind me in line, maybe 45-50 years old, our exchange went like this:
Woman: omg your baby is so cute! How old is he?
Me: thank you 😊 he’s 2 weeks old.
Woman: oh my goodness, 2 weeks old and you’re expecting another so soon?!
Me: Um, no. I’m swollen from my surgery and because my baby is TWO WEEKS OLD.
Woman: oh I’m sorry ha ha.
Me (because I’m petty af): no worries. But congratulations to you, how far along are you? *knowing her ass is definitely not pregnant!**
Woman: I’m not pregnant 😤
Me: oh I’m so sorry, it’s super rude to assume that sort of thing.
Seriously what is wrong with people? I don’t know what’s scarier, societies expectations for post partum moms to bounce right back, OR the fact that this woman was in SCRUBS and believed you could be pregnant/know you’re pregnant/ and be showing 2 weeks post partum!! 🤦♀️ I hope and pray she’s never my nurse.
What’s the craziest thing anyone’s said to you PP??
