When should i test progesterone level

Question

I have normal 29/30 day cycle. I ovulate on CD16. But my doctor is requesting to do progesterone test after ovulation on CD21. Which only makes it 5 days after ovulation. Should i ask to get it checked on CD22 instead? Im just worried that my progesterone wont peak on CD21. As i read progesterone peaks 6-8 days after O.

You can always call the office and let them know you are tracking ovulation and that you ovulated later so they can move or reschedule the blood draw for the correct day. You usually want the progesterone check done at 7 dpo, CD21 is the their baseline when they do it. I always ovulated later in my cycle so I just call them and they push it back. You don’t want levels done to early or to late as it will effect what result you get. It does peak 6-8 dpo so that’s best time to get them drawn.

Trust your doctor tyey have to test within a certain time frame to verify its at least 10. That proves ovulation and that if you conceived its enough to sustain a pregnancy.
