What should you do if you accidentally take the wrong dosage of medication?
I have folic epilepsy, and have had it for about 15yrs. For about 5 years I’ve been taking Oxcarbazepine (aka Trileptal), and things have been going okay. About a week ago, I went to CVS to pick up my meds once my doctor changed it; however, CVS didn’t tell me that the pharmacy split the two dosages. So, I basically ended up taking 150mg less than what I usually take.
To make a long story short, I took this wrong dose for 6 days, and I started feeling weird (having anxiety, more seizures, started going crazy etc.), my family rushed me to the hospital. Once we were there, my mom noticed my meds were wrong. I had an appointment with my doctor today & he’s saying to just add to my original medication. I’m not too sure about adding more, and I’ve been scared ever since. Although I’m back to my original 300mg, I’m still not feeling like myself (having tons of anxiety). I’m also scared to go to sleep. Is there anything else you think I should do, to help with this situation?
