How am I getting my period??

I am exclusively breastfeeding and 6 weeks PP how is it that I’m getting my period? Does that mean I’m fertile again? No rude comments please

With my first I had some period like bleeding around 6 weeks and I think 8 weeks as well. Then nothing again until 7 months pp. this time I had bleeding around 5 weeks pp. idk of it was a period or not though.

You’re fertile even when you don’t get your period due to breastfeeding. Breastfeeding isn’t contraception.

I feel you ! I exclusively breastfeed my first and still got my period at 8 weeks pp and every month after ! I’m currently waiting until Thursday (I’ll be 8weeks) hoping I dont get it early again this time ! 😭

Is this your first pregnancy? It can vary a lot when you get your period back after giving birth, however some women will find that their period take a while to become regular again. You might have one but skip the next month etc.
If you’ve got your period back then there’s a good chance you are fertile and ovulating. However there are women who haven’t had a period but have still ovulated and found themselves pregnant again as a result. So just because you don’t have your period doesn’t mean you’re not fertile!
I didn’t get my period back until about 1 year PP with my first baby, I’m 6 weeks PP at the moment so will see how long it takes this time 😊
