Experience with ivf / surrogacy?

My best friend and I met while we were both pregnant with our firsts. Both of us had gotten pregnant easily. We decided to try for our second around the same time, and both had multiple miscarriages. I was lucky enough that one of them finally held on, and I recently gave birth to my second child. She, unfortunately, recently had PPROM in her second trimester and lost her child. She brought up in a recent conversation that she had thought about going through surrogacy but would not be able to afford it.

It got me thinking about being a surrogate for her, but I wanted some more information before I even bring it up to her. I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experience with me and answer a few questions?

1. Could I even be a surrogate since I have had losses as well?

2. Would my pregnancy be covered by my insurance (I'm in the US) or would we have to pay for everything out of pocket?

3. Have you or anyone you know done surrogacy then gone on to have more children of their own?
