Has anyone's doctor recommended inducing labor by 41 weeks due to high BMI?

My doctor shared with me that because of my "height to weight ratio," they would be looking to induce labor by 41 weeks at the latest. I've had a super healthy pregnancy with no complications, and I'm not a fan of inducing before the standard 42 weeks.
Any of you deal with something similar? What are your thoughts?

It's actually better to induce at 39-40 weeks regardless of your condition. But you do you.

My Dr for my second did. I declined as I wanted to wait until baby was ready. Two days before she wanted to induce me I got high blood pressure and was induced anyway...lol

I’d decline… that’s honestly the most trash reason I’ve ever heard of to induce. Ask for their evidence and for a second opinion.
I’d probably ask for every other day scans to make sure baby is happy and the placenta still has good blood flow, but it’s perfectly reasonable to want to wait until 42 weeks for induction.

The efficiency of the placenta decreases after 40 weeks, it may be that high BMI makes this worse? You should ask for the reasoning behind it and more detail than just ‘high BMI’

Also wouldn’t 41 weeks put you one week overdue? They would have to induce you regardless since holding the baby in for too long could actually make it toxic to both you and the baby. I could be wrong about this tho not a expert at all just thinking out loud.

Due to my gestational diabetes my doctor was going to induce me at 38 weeks and 1 day but my little one had plans of her own and came a day early lol. But they still put me on pitocin for both my pregnancies because for some reason my body just clams up and decreases my natural contractions and prevents me from dialating. Hopefully with this 3rd one it’ll just fly out my cooch because I hate pitocin it makes my contractions so strong even the epidural doesn’t work fully.🤦🏻‍♀️
