bittersweet: finally got a PCOS diagnosis
so I'm having a monitored cycle right now to investigate my irregular periods. my CD3 bloodwork came back with high insulin and A1C and my doctor is pretty confident i have PCOS. she recommended i add metformin in with the inositol i was already taking. (success stories on metformin would be so welcome! ofc i'll also do a search for them)
.
the good:
- i know what's wrong and have treatment options
- the satisfaction that i was right about PCOS when my gyno blew me off 2 years ago
- had my tubes checked with FemVue (similar to HSG) and that's all clear
- husband's semen analysis is largely normal
.
the bad:
- my lizard brain thinks not conceiving yet is all my fault
- having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that there's no cure, just management
- dude that FemVue HURT i almost cried 😅
.
baby dust to all and warm wishes to those with PCOS and other conditions affecting fertility 💖
