Owlet false reading?

At 2:40 a.m. we had the scariest sound go off on our baby’s owlet monitor. We rushed to her crib and she was asleep and we woke her and she acted normal. Her owlet app told us that her heart rate went below 60. At 59 BPM… my question is,  has anyone else has this happen? I’m honestly restless and worrying constantly now. Her oxygen was completely normal when her heart rate dropped. I don’t know if I trust this owlet sock anymore! Ugh!

That is a reason, why the owlet is not a reccomendation for everyone.
If you feel it makes you anxious, then don't use it. That gives you another thing to worry about. False readings are more common than anything going wrong.
Just check on your baby, and if all seems well to you in real life, then it is ok.

If it makes you that worried, get rid of it. With both my kids I didnt use one.

I've heard the owlet gives false readings sometimes. I didn't use it and I wouldn't use it unless medically necessary. If it's causing this much worry I would just stop using it. There is likely nothing wrong with baby and it's the owlet thats the problem

I used an owlet u til he was about 1. The only time I had false readings was when it was time to size up the sock. It was a placement issue. 
The owlet can be a GREAT tool. For me, it eased my anxiety and allowed me to get the rest I needed.

The only time I’ve gotten a false reading was when the sock was loose, like if baby had kicked around and it moved out of place a little. 
If you don’t already do this I found footie pajamas or socks help keep the owlet on better. And making sure you’re using the right size owlet. 
But yes, it was likely a false reading. As others said I would stop using it if that stresses you out too much! The owlet isn’t for everyone, and you have to remember it’s not fool proof.

We love our Owlet. We have never had false readings for HB or Oxygen. I suppose, like anything, it can malfunction. Some people worry it will give them anxiety. For us, it does the opposite. It is the only thing that allows my husband and I to rest and sleep without worrying something will happen when she’s sleeping. 
When my son was 4 mos old the alarm woke went off for the first time and it scared me. His heart rate had sky rocketed. I was panicked and didn’t know what it meant. He felt warm, but the thermometer was saying there wasn’t a fever. I immediately text his pediatrician (probably 10 or 11 at night) and since he didn’t have a fever took him to ER to be safe. It turned out, the thermometer wasn’t reading correctly and he had a high fever. If the Owlet had not alarmed me my son would’ve continued to sleep and who knows how high his fever would’ve gotten without us knowing. The Owlet paid for itself that night. 
It’s not for everyone, but it could be giving you information that is worth looking into with the pediatrician. When it comes to baby I always feel it is best to be safe than sorry. 🤷🏻‍♀️
