Helicopter mom?

Hi everyone. So my daughter is just around 14wks and she has NO interest in grabbing toys that are hanging above her head. I’m a ftm and don’t know if that’s a steadfast 3mo old thing to do. She laughs, can roll from her tummy to back and is cooing nonstop. But I notice that her hands are still in fists 60-70% percent of the time and she doesn’t give a crap about toys no matter how hard I try ☹️ any experienced moms know if I’m being unnecessarily worried.

There are a lot of milestones and they won’t all happen at the same time. Babies master things little by little and it sounds like your little one has been busy with other skills. If you’re concerned you could help her grasp things or hold them close to her to entice her to grab for it. I wouldn’t worry. I have an  8 and 5 year old and I have no clue what month they grabbed things but they can 🤣

My son does the fist thing as well. I spoke to the neurologist and she said that babies tend to keep their hands baller until around 4 months old. But, as long as you can sometimes catch them opening their hands and you can open them then it’s nothing to worry about really.

My little girl is 15 weeks tomorrow and only in the last couple of days has actually started grabbing things, usually just because they are near her hands not because it necessarily what she wants to do. Your little one will get there! My bubba tolerates tummy time for maybe 15 mins a day but can roll from back to tummy when she wants (not all the time). Milestones will be reached a different times for all bubba's so don't stress.

All babies hit different milestones at different times! My first was rolling and grabbing things by 3 months and my now 4 month old JUST started grabbing things and rolling back to belly this week (17 weeks). I would hold toys in front of him, move them around for him to follow, help move his hands towards the toys. Anything that encouraged him to do it. Took a while, but he got there! My boy is a big lazy potato but practice makes perfect!

Don’t worry until around 4 months. It’s sort of a personality thing usually. My firstborn is intensely strong willed and super high energy and he was swiping by 8 weeks and grabbing around 10 weeks.
This second one is much more content and chill and he only just started holding objects this past week at 15 weeks. We had tried daily to interest him in things, what finally did it was putting things on his chest when he’s sitting inclined or laying down. He learned to grab them with both hands and take them to his mouth to explore them. He is still not reaching for objects and still doesn’t have the coordination to be grab things we dangle but that’s supposed to be a skill perfected during Leap 4 which were in so I’m not worried. His eyesight and coordination need a lot more refinement but it’ll come.
Some babies are more physically progressive than others. It’s okay. 
Just count it as a few more weeks where baby isn’t ripping off your glasses or getting his sticky little fingers wrapped up in your hair 😆😆😆
