Has anyone ever met a person and just knew they were the one?

I’ve been on and off with this guy for over a year now and I can’t seem to leave him alone. I love him so much but we both have so many insecurities and it seems they always get the best of us. However I know if we can get those issues out the way we would just click. Which is why I think we keep coming back together. Any advice or stories

I met my husband when we were like 12 (through mutual friends) .We dated for like a week before he broke up with me 😂 but I ALWAYS had a thing for him. We lost contact for a while and met back up at a party one day and have been together since! Married for almost 5 years now and we have 1 son and a foster daughter (soon to be adopted by us)

If your relationship is unstable, this deep connection you feel may very well be unresolved issues eg childhood issues that he is triggering, and also unstable relationships often require a lot more mental and emotional energy, making us feel even more invested than a healthy relationship. I have felt what you are describing....and I was wrong. I was very invested in him, he was very charismatic and I thought we had this deep unexplainable connection. Wrong wrong wrong, very unhealthy, it was a really hard lesson. With my current husband of 10 years, when we met, it was like I had known him a long time....but it was so relaxed and easy. Yes of course we have had our issues to work through, but the relationship was very steady and drama-free....that's the one that has stuck vs my swooning rollercoaster drama crap with my ex.

My husband. As cheesy as it sounds too. Since I was a kid, I named everything, Freddy. My pet fish, any cartoon character I drew, random spiders around the house. I wrote books for school and the main character would be, Freddy. I told him about it and we laughed about it. I had to show him proof so I wouldn’t look like a creep. We’re both super tatted and realized we got the same exact tattoo, same location, the same month and year 🤣🥴 but didn’t meet for another 10 years.
